The following steps show how to allow users outside of the organization (White Elephant Resorts) to upload sensitive documents via SharePoint.
1. Navigate to your department's internal SharePoint site and create a new folder/document library specifically for sensitive documents.
2. If you are going to have multiple uploads from multiple different users, it is recommended that within the folder you created, you create a per-property and/or per-user structure. For example, if you create a folder named "Sensitive Documents," you will want to create an additional folder within "Sensitive Documents" that contains the user's name.
3. For the folder in question, make you are viewing the full document library. If there is a button in the top right-hand corner of the library that says "See all," select this option.
4.Navigate to the folder, hover over it, and click the three dots that appear.
5. Select the "request files" option.
6. Provide a descriptive name for the upload request and click next.
7. You can copy the link and send it to the user or send it to the user directly via email. Click done when finished. The link only permits upload and does not allow the user does see any contents within the folder.
8. To set an expiration of the link: Click the three dots on the folder again and select "Manage access." Go to the "Links" tab and click the gear icon for the active link. You will see the option to set an expiration date and you can do so if needed.
9. Feel free to test this feature yourself by copying the link and pasting in a browser where you are not signed into SharePoint.
